I was at Micheal’s with my mom today. She needed craft supply for VBS. while there, I grew increasingly tired and cranky. I needed something to entertain myself with. I passed the rubber figurine section claiming to offer “hours of enjoyment.” I decided to test this for myself. Within minutes I had a mermaid riding a dragon, a diver corralling a panda, a dragon eating a cat, a hippo eating a pig, and a fairy steering a giraffe. I turned to join my mother at check-out just before a woman walking down the aisle could pass by me. I never looked to see her reaction, but I felt subtly accomplished since I knew she saw me put the finishing touches on the pig in the hippo’s mouth. This is what happens when I am tired, cranky, alone in a craft store, and left to entertain myself.
